Pittsburgh Pride
PHLC is proud to once again participate in Pittsburgh Pride on June 1! Enjoy the day and share the love in our booth. Sign up for a shift here.
From the Pittsburgh Pride website:
Welcome to Pittsburgh Pride. In the Steel City, we have an exceptionally vibrant LGBTQ+ community, grounded in support and inclusivity for the most marginalized among us. Our Pride’s leadership is unique in that it reflects the diversity of our own — Pittsburgh Pride is organized by a group of local LGBTQ+ organizations, including TransYOUniting. We rise in Pride, standing tall as a beacon of the rust belt’s revival and the joy of honoring those that came before us.

Millvale Pride
Pride Millvale is a fantastic event celebrating diversity and inclusion.
Pride Millvale is an annual celebration that is organized entirely by volunteers who work to create a safe, supportive, loving, fun, and inclusive event for members of the queer community and the allies who stand with them. We recognize that visibility is crucial in raising awareness and increasing acceptance about identities that have been historically marginalized. Visit the event website here for more information.
This FREE event is entirely created, organized, funded, and enacted by volunteers.

Faith, Pride, and Brews
Join us on June 28 at 7 pm at Allegheny City Brewing on the Northside of Pittsburgh. This event will provide a chance to connect with members of Reconciling in Christ churches from around our synod and folks whom we met at the Pittsburgh and Millvale Pride festivals.
This event aims to deepen our understanding of how our faith intersects with the celebration of Pride Month. We will explore why our Christian faith calls us to celebrate diversity and inclusivity, and how these values are integral to our spiritual journey. Through open dialogue, we’ll discuss the ways in which our faith supports and uplifts the LGBTQ+ community, fostering a spirit of love and acceptance.
The evening will be filled with storytelling and sharing personal experiences about following Jesus. These stories will highlight how our faith journey is not just about personal growth but also about understanding and embracing our neighbors. By listening to each other’s experiences, we will learn more about the rich diversity within our community and how celebrating who we are is an act of faith.
In a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, you’ll have the chance to meet and connect with others who share your commitment to inclusivity and social justice. Whether you’re a long-time member of an RIC church or someone new to the community, this event promises to be an inspiring and affirming experience.
Come join us for an evening of meaningful conversations, new friendships, and a celebration of faith and identity. Let’s come together to reflect on the importance of Pride Month in our faith lives and rejoice in the beauty of who we are. We look forward to seeing you there and sharing this special time together!
PHLC is a Reconciling in Christ Congregation. Read our Welcome Statement here
In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, who invited us in reconciling love and grace to join the reign of God, this church welcomes all. We extend this welcome to all believers and non-believers regardless of age, cultural background, economic status, ethnic or linguistic heritage, employment status, housing status, substance dependence, marital status, physical or mental abilities, race, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other distinction.
As we are all one in God’s eyes, we encourage any who express an interest to become an active part of this congregation’s full life as we witness God’s love. This is our response to the Gospel, as we understand it, and to do any less would deny to others the welcome we have received from the Creator of us all.
