Film Club Event
PHLC invites you to join us on Saturday, January 24 at 7:00 pm for an engaging evening with our Film Club, featuring a screening of The Truman Show. This thought-provoking and imaginative film stars Jim Carrey in a memorable dramatic role and explores powerful themes of identity, freedom, truth, and what it means to live an authentic life.
At first glance, The Truman Show appears lighthearted and humorous, but as the story unfolds it raises deeper questions about control, community, and the ways our lives are shaped by forces we may not always recognize. Truman Burbank’s journey invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences: How do we define reality? What does it take to step beyond fear and the expectations placed upon us? Where do we find the courage to seek truth, even when it feels uncomfortable?
Our Film Club gatherings are designed to be welcoming, relaxed, and meaningful. Following the viewing, we’ll share insights, ask questions, and explore the film’s themes together. You don’t need to be a film expert to participate—just bring your curiosity and willingness to listen and reflect. These discussions often connect the movie’s messages to faith, daily life, and our shared human experiences.
Whether you’ve seen The Truman Show before or are discovering it for the first time, this evening promises laughter, reflection, and thoughtful conversation. Friends, family members, and newcomers are always welcome, so feel free to invite someone to join you.
Come enjoy a movie night with purpose, connection, and conversation at PHLC. We look forward to seeing you on January 24 at 7:00 pm!
