Christmas at PHLC
Many events are planned as we prepare for the birth of the Christ child. Take time out of this busy holiday season to take a breath, relax, and enjoy this time with your PHLC family. All Sunday services begin at 9:30 am.
1st Sunday of Advent — Cheer Bags & Service Project
We begin with the first Sunday of Advent on November 30. After the service, join the Fellowship Team as they host a Make Your Own cheer bag event! Stop by their table in the Narthex after the service to get a gift bag and choose the items you’d like to go in it. There will be something for everyone, including devotions, ornaments, kids’ crafts, and sweet treats – all designed to help you get into the spirit of Advent as we await the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
Also on this day after the service, our 412Youth will be hosting a congregation-wide service project. We will be making Christmas cards for shut-ins.
Holiday Concert
On Saturday, December 6, at 7 pm, the Three Rivers Ringers will host their “Carols of Christmas” concert at PHLC. Bring your family and friends to this free holiday concert (donations appreciated). See event flyer here.
2nd Sunday of Advent — Angel Tree Gifts Due
Sunday, December 7, is the second Sunday of Advent. Also, on this day, the gifts from the Angel Tree for the children at Glade Run are due. Remember to include the corresponding gift tag that you chose from the Angel Tree with your unwrapped gift. Also, complete the sign-up sheet to signify that you have brought your gift.
3rd Sunday of Advent — Christmas Pageant and Christmas Party
As we celebrate the third Sunday of Advent on December 14, we will enjoy our all-church, all-ages Christmas Pageant, where everyone — church members and visitors — are invited to come help bring the Christmas story to life. Following the service, we will enjoy our Christmas party with food, games, Christmas karaoke, and an ugly sweater contest!
Blue Christmas
On Saturday, December 20, at 5 pm, we will observe Blue Christmas. This service provides space for those who might be experiencing grief, struggles, or sadness during the holiday season. Join us — we are here for you.
4th Sunday of Advent
Sunday, December 21, is the fourth Sunday of Advent and the final Sunday before we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. Join us in our final preparations.
Christmas Eve
Our Christmas Eve service will be on Wednesday, December 24. Enjoy special music beginning at 5 pm followed by the service at 5:30 pm. Every year our music director, Jenny, brings together wonderful musicians to provide beautiful music that touches our hearts and prepares us to welcome Jesus into the world. This service culminates with singing Silent Night together in the gentle candlelight. We hope to share this evening with you.
1st Sunday of Christmas
On the first Sunday of Christmas, December 28, we will enjoy readings and carols. What a great way to unwind after Christmas Day!
We hope to see you at all or some of these special celebrations. We wish you a joyous Christmas!
