This relaxed and welcoming evening is the perfect chance to unwind\, enjoy good company\, and spend time with friends old and new. \nJordan will be bringing games including River Valley Glass Work\, Forbidden Island\, Century: Spice Road\, PARKS\, Catan\, Sagrada\, Splendor\, 7 Wonders\, and Canvas. We’ll order some pizza for everyone to enjoy. We’ll wait to see who shows up to determine dietary needs. Feel free to bring a snack to share if that would bring you joy. \nAdult Game Night is a wonderful opportunity to build community and strengthen friendships in a casual setting outside of Sunday worship. DESCRIPTION:Prayer Vigil\nJoin members of PHLC as we stand with our wider community at a weekly prayer vigil in support of immigrants who have been seized and are being held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This vigil takes place every Friday\, beginning at 8:30 AM\, at the ICE Field Office\, 3000 Sydney Street\, Pittsburgh. It is grounded in faith\, compassion\, and a shared commitment to justice. \nEach gathering includes hymns\, spoken prayers\, and intentional moments of silence. Together\, we create sacred space in the midst of public life—bearing witness to the dignity of our immigrant neighbors and naming the harm caused by unjust systems. This is a peaceful\, quiet protest\, meant to remind the public that the suffering of our neighbors is not abstract or distant\, but real and happening in our community. \nParticipants are welcome to carry signs that reflect messages of hope\, solidarity\, and justice. In keeping with the spirit of the vigil\, there will be no shouting\, chanting\, or bullhorns. Those attending will stand on the public sidewalk only and may not enter the roadway or the property of the ICE facility. These guidelines help ensure the safety of all involved and preserve the prayerful nature of the gathering. \nThis vigil is an act of faithful presence—showing up\, week after week\, to say that immigrants are beloved\, that families matter\, and that silence in the face of injustice is not an option. Whether you come every Friday or are able to join us once\, your presence matters. \nThe vigil is hosted by Sisters of St. Joseph\, Pax Christi\, and Casa San José. DESCRIPTION:Join us at 9:30 am on Sundays — We Make a Place for Everyone!\nOverview\n\nThe words of today’s gospel are most often heard during a funeral service. It is a popular choice of scripture for that occasion because the words provide wonderful assurance that the one who has died in Christ has now taken up residence in their heavenly home. The gospel begins by Jesus saying that he will prepare a place for each one of us. But as the text continues\, we can see that our place is not an isolated room of our own in a giant heavenly mansion. Jesus’ words are less about a place than a relationship: our relationship with Jesus and God the Father. They tell us that in Jesus we know all we need to know about God\, and just as we can have a relationship with another human person\, we can also have a relationship with God that will one day be as real and obvious as are our relationships with one another. The hope of one day being with Christ fully and forever is as real as the works we are called to do in his name today. \nThis text allows us the opportunity to contemplate what is ultimately unknowable\, yet is also a central part of our faith: what heaven will be like. \n~From Sundays & Seasons
