RIC Recommitment Sunday 2022: Embracing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Perry Highway Lutheran Church
This RIC Recommitment Sunday, Perry Highway Lutheran Church reaffirms its dedication to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in our congregation and community. As we recommit to being a Reconciling in Christ Congregation, we do so with an intentional focus on welcoming all who seek God’s grace and embodying the reconciling love of Christ.
2022 RIC Sunday Reaffirmation Statement:
In the spirit of Christ, who calls us to lives of reconciliation and wholeness, we, the members of Perry Highway Lutheran Church, embrace our recommitment as a Reconciling in Christ Congregation with a renewed focus on:
- Diversity: Welcoming and celebrating individuals from all walks of life, recognizing the beauty and strength of our varied experiences, identities, and perspectives.
- Equity: Committing to fairness and justice within our church and community, actively working to dismantle barriers and ensure equal participation for all, particularly those who have been marginalized.
- Inclusion: Cultivating a sense of belonging where everyone is respected, valued, and supported in their spiritual journey with us.
We openly welcome all those who have been excluded due to sexual orientation, gender identity, race, disability, addiction, physical or mental health, imprisonment, or economic status. We pledge to live out these DEI values as a reconciling people in our life and our outreach to the world. We are one in Christ Jesus and proudly declare that our welcome includes every person, reflecting the inclusive and embracing love of our Savior.
We invite each of you to join us in this commitment to live and serve in a manner that truly reflects the teachings of Jesus—a life marked by unconditional love, radical welcome, and a relentless pursuit of justice.
