Mutual Ministry Committee

The Mutual Ministry Committee is an important and vital group within our congregation. Our mission is to foster open communication, mutual support, and healthy relationships between the congregation and our pastoral and lay staff. We seek to build a strong and nurturing environment where ministry thrives and the mission of the church is advanced.

The primary function of the Mutual ministry Committee is to keep the Pastor and staff advised about the conditions within the congregation of Perry Highway Lutheran Church, and to interpret to the congregation the ministry of the Pastor and other professional leaders. The committee’s responsibilities are outlined in four general areas: Selection, Education, Evaluation, and Support.

Role and Purpose

The Mutual Ministry Committee serves as a liaison between the congregation and the pastoral and lay staff. Our primary responsibilities include:

  • Providing a safe and confidential space for staff members to share their joys, concerns, and needs.

  • Offering support, encouragement, and resources to staff members as they carry out their ministries.

  • Facilitating open communication and collaboration between the congregation and staff.

  • Addressing any issues or conflicts that may arise in a constructive and compassionate manner.

  • Assisting in the evaluation of staff performance and providing feedback for professional growth and development.

  • Advocating for the well-being and care of the staff, including matters related to compensation and benefits.
