Lenten Outreach Mission Benefits Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh

For the 11th year, we will assemble Easter baskets for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as a Lenten outreach mission.  Perry Highway Lutheran will be donating these baskets on behalf of our congregation as well as the Mother’s Hope Foundation – a local organization that strives to ease the suffering of children afflicted with cancer.  The baskets will be given to children of all ages – toddlers to teens.

Donations Needed by April 9: We would appreciate any of the following suggested items, including but not limited to: craft items, puzzles, books, card games, small games, make-up, toiletries, SCRIPS gift cards, fun socks, jewelry, DVDs, CDs, stuffed animals (tags must be on them to indicate “NEW” status), handheld or travel games, small Lego or other building sets, sports memorabilia (i.e. game jerseys, hats, tees, etc.).  We are NOT collecting food or candy items due to dietary restrictions.   Any monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to buy any needed items.  We will be putting the baskets together on Palm Sunday, April 9, during Children’s Church.  Please bring your donations in during the next few weeks.  Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Any questions or suggestions regarding the baskets, please contact Cyndi Chiodo, Mother’s Hope Co-Chair.
