We strive to bring the teachings of the Bible and of Jesus Christ to all church members (and any of our visitors) through regularly scheduled Sunday School classes, as well as planned seasonal activities throughout the year.  If you are interested in helping out, contact Elaine Roller at FamilyMinistries@phlc.org.

Sunday School

Our curriculum has been structured in such a way that children will receive age-appropriate elements important in Christian Education throughout the Sunday School Program at PHLC.  We begin with basic Bible Stories in the Pre-K/Kindergarten class and continue adding more detail and stories in the first/second grade to class.  The third/fourth grade class lessons are designed to help children become familiar with and learn to use their Bible.  Many of their lessons also deal with character themes, similar to the Fruit of the Spirit.  Fifth/sixth grade class lessons are lectionary-based in conjunction with the weekly scriptures and the church calendar.  The seventh/eight grade classes follow our Confirmation program while the high school class enjoys current issue dialogue and introspection.  Adult classes study a variety of topics, employing special videos and books of interest.

In addition to regular Sunday School classes, we also sponsor several special events throughout the year.  These include our opening Rally Day Event, Bible Sunday (when age appropriate Bibles are gifted to children in Kindergarten, third and seventh grades), a special Good Friday Children’s service, and Easter Egg Hunt, our annual Dessert Walk and more.

Sunday school for children, youth, and adults meets from September through May.  Lessons are between the early and late services on Sundays.  If you are interested in becoming an instructor, or co-instructor, please contact Elaine Roller or any member of the Christian Education team.
